Overview: This training introduces the foundational elements of workplace conflict, focusing on how to recognize early signs and prevent escalation. Participants will explore common sources of conflict and learn practical de-escalation techniques they can apply in real-time. Through guided practice and discussion, attendees will begin building the confidence to respond calmly and constructively in challenging situations. While this session lays groundwork, it also offers a preview of more advanced resolution strategies that can be explored in a 2nd accompanying workshop.

Melissa earned both her bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a minor in Project Management and her Master of Education in Educational Administration – Adult & Higher Education from the University of Sioux Falls. She is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) through ATD International and a Development Dimensions International (DDI) certified facilitator. With more than 16 years of experience in Learning and Development leadership, Melissa has designed and led onboarding, skills-based and leadership programs that strengthen employees and organizations. At Yellow Transportation and CRST, she led large-scale training initiatives that improved engagement, reduced ramp-up time and supported leader growth. She is passionate about creating learning experiences that foster psychological safety, empowerment and continuous improvement in the workplace.
