Overview:
What does cultural and intercultural competency mean? How do we utilize it in our daily work? This interactive session will explore definitions and key traits of cultural and intercultural competency. Participants will then practice identifying fundamental cultural value orientations and why they matter.

- Identify cultural value orientations in self and others.
Faith Minnich Kjesbo (MINN-ick KEYS-bow) joined Avera in 2019 and currently serves as Manager of Formation and Cultural Competence at Avera, leading and promoting a culture of learning, development and belonging that is founded in and reflective of Avera’s Catholic identity, mission, and values. In July 2023, Faith founded Mountain Light LLC, offering consulting and coaching services to people and organizations as they navigate change, develop cultural intelligence, cultivate belonging, pursue greater dignity, equity, and justice, and practice wholehearted, embodied living. Faith is a trained systems therapist who is passionate about holistic organizational and personal development, focused on creating safe and brave spaces and opportunities for learning, growth, and transformation. Faith is certified in Cultural Intelligence (CQ®) and Everything DiSC Workplace®, is a National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional, and serves on the Board and as Director of the Education Committee of Pathways to Inclusive & Equitable Workplaces. She and her partner, Jordan, and their children Hazel and Henry, live in Sioux Falls, SD.
