Participants will receive information on evaluating key risk factors for staff exiting employment with strategies to
prioritize retention interventions. This session in the series will include methods for measuring staff engagement
and empowerment--which are potential indicators of staff job satisfaction and a measure of risk of leaving an
organization. Tangible action planning to promote improvement in these areas based on best practices will be
covered. Through a combination of expert instruction, practical examples, participant engagement opportunities
and actionable strategies, this series will provide a catalyst to implement a step in the right direction toward your
facility’s staff retention goals.

Shelly Maffia is a highly accomplished and experienced professional in the long-term care setting. As a Registered Nurse and licensed Nursing Home Administrator, she brings a wealth of expertise to her work. Shelly's dedication to excellence is evident through her numerous certifications and memberships in industry organizations, including the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC), the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN), the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and the Healthcare Compliance Association (HCCA).

Shelly's commitment to continual learning and improvement is exemplified by her AANAC's QAPI Certified  Professional (QCP) credential, her certification in healthcare compliance through the Healthcare Compliance Association (HCCA), her AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) designation, and her role as an AHIMA approved ICD-10 trainer. Additionally, she serves as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.
