Event Details
In this presentation, Omni will describe the role of an end-of-life doula within the context of both community care and healthcare settings. Participants will learn about the benefits of being trained as a doula for all those who serve aging populations, those living with serious illness, palliative care patients, and hospice/end-of-life patients. End-of-life doulas can act as valuable members of interdisciplinary teams and increase patient encounters and quality of life, even at end-of-life.
Objectives:
- Learn about End-of-Life Doulas (EOLDs)
- Understand the positive impacts of having EOLDs embedded in communities and in healthcare
- Patient benefits and cost-saving
- Ways to integrate EOLDs into existing healthcare delivery structures
