JoLynn Bostrom, Administrator of Service to Families, will be presenting on the process of reporting child abuse/neglect in South Dakota. Participants can expect to learn more about:

JoLynn Bostrom currently serves as the Administrator of Services for Family Child Protection Services with the Department of Social Services. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology from the South Dakota School of Mines in 2002 and began her career with the Division of Child Protection Services at that same time.
In her current role, JoLynn provides oversight and management of the Division’s Central Registry for Abuse and Neglect, reviews child fatality and near-fatality reports, and collaborates closely with the Division of Legal Services on administrative hearings, malicious reports, and other legal matters.
JoLynn is responsible for the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) report, the Children’s Justice Act (CJA) grant application and related funding requests, out-of-home investigation contracts, and out-of-home investigation referrals involving daycares, group care centers, residential facilities, and foster homes. Her responsibilities also include overseeing out-of-state history checks, record destruction, protective services alerts, and updates to the Child Protection Manual. In addition, JoLynn provides oversight of the centralized intake process, annual intake training, and intake certification training for new hires.
