DataGen (a for-profit subsidiary of the non-profit Healthcare Association of NYS) provides Medicare fee-for-service analytic support to 46 state hospital associations and 10 multi-state health systems.
In this webinar, DataGen partners with SDAHO to discuss the Center of Medicare and Medicaid's Readmission Reduction Program and Hospital Acquired Condition program. Specifically, DataGen will give an overview of these programs and do a deep dive into CMS' methodologies followed by a review of the DataGen RRP and HAC analyses that you receive through SDAHO. Finally, DataGen will provide state specific impacts over the last few years of the program.
Lauren Alvarenga is the director of KeySTATS at DataGen, a subsidiary of the Healthcare Association of New York State. DataGen is a healthcare analytics firm that develops analyses and tools to support healthcare organizations in improving their care efficiency and operational and financial performance. Alvarenga leads a team that contracts with 46 state hospital associations and 10 multi-state health systems to research and analyze the financial impact of regulatory and legislative changes on Medicare reimbursement to hospitals and health systems.
Alvarenga began working in healthcare policy in 2015, focusing on the regulatory and financial changes and implications of Medicare reimbursement programs, with a specific focus on the Affordable Care Act’s quality-based pay-for-performance programs.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and actuarial science from Siena College and completed her Master of Public Health degree in biostatistics from the State University of New York at Albany.
Sonam Sherpa is a Senior Healthcare Policy and Data Analyst at DataGen, a subsidiary of the Healthcare Association of New York State. DataGen is a healthcare analytics firm that develops analyses and tools to support healthcare organizations in improving their care efficiency and operational and financial performance. Previously, Ms. Sherpa worked as an analyst providing data analytic support for the Eastern US Quality Improvement Collaborative. Today, her role on the team focuses on the regulatory and financial changes and implications of Medicare reimbursement programs, with a specific focus on the Affordable Care Act’s quality-based pay-for-performance programs. Sonam received her Bachelor of Science degree in applied data science from Siena College.
