Interventional Pain Management Strategies in Refractory Cancer Related Pain

This educational session focuses on pain management strategies for refractory pain when standard of care medications, such as opioids, acetaminophen, and NSAIDs, and nonpharmacologic modalities, fail to provide adequate pain relief in cancer related pain. The information provided will educate the audience on interventional procedural options that have been shown to improve pain in the cancer population.
Objectives:
-Review the impact of refractory pain on patients with advanced stage cancers
-Learn different interventional strategies that are shown to be beneficial for refractory cancer related pain when stand of care measures fail to control pain.
-Identify patients that may benefit from interventional options for oncologic pain management as part of the pain management regimen.
