Swing Beds - CMS Hospital Requirements

Swing Beds can be a financial lifeline for Critical Access Hospitals, but also for smaller Acute hospitals. CMS recently update the Acute manual to include regulations for those smaller, acute hospitals. The regulations are in the respective manuals – Appendix W for Critical Access hospitals and Appendix A for Acute hospitals – but the interpretive guidelines and survey procedures are in another manual – Appendix PP for Long Term Care. There is no crosswalk, so this webinar was created to assist hospitals in deciphering the mystery.
