Top Deficiencies in the State for Hospitals

Acute Hospitals across the nation face common challenges, including compliance with federal regulations and accreditation standards. Many of the most frequently cited deficiencies in South Dakota are concentrated in the Conditions of infection prevention, patient rights and nursing. The South Dakota deficiencies reflect nationwide trends in deficiencies found during complaint investigations and general certification surveys. This session will focus on the most problematic deficiencies and the guidelines surveyors utilize to determine compliance.
